Prayer for Room in the Manger in My Heart – Christmas 2016

December 24, 2016 by Jack Emmott 8 Comments

Heavenly Father, as I pray in Advent darkness please help me make room in the manger of my heart for the light of Christ to soon dwell. I have brothers and sisters in Christ who have little or no food to eat or water to drink or a stable for comfort or shelter.  Out of the fruit of my labors may I generously give in Your Holy Name my time and  money to Your less fortunate children who have so much more of so much less. As Mary borne baby Jesus, the King of Kings, please make room in the manger of my heart for me to carry the love and light of Your blessed Son to others so in need of Holy hope, healing and sustenance.

Amen.

Jack, It is very good to hear from you. I hope that you will respond and send me a note to let me know how you have been. Nearly 5 years ago I retired from CITGO to take a job with Valero. I was offered a transfer to their corporate offices in San Antonio 4 years ago. So now we live in Spring Branch, Tx about 15 miles from Canyon Lake. Our suving son Chris works as a pediatric and neonatal Respiratory Therapist at Colorado Children’s hospital in Colorado Springs. When not working he snow boards and hikes. He is attempting to climb all of the 14,000 ft mountains in Colorado. So far he has climbed 9 and some of them multiple times. Rosemary retired from nursing several years ago not because she didn’t like the patient care but because she got burnt out with hassles from management.

I would like to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Thank you, Jack, for such a beautiful and inspirational prayer. It helps remind us of what the Christmas season is about, and hopefully we will continue the future remembering these sentiments.

And so we must remember the reason for this beautiful season. As God shared his precious son with us we must share with others. Merry Christmas dear Jack.
