God – Today, I give You thanks for Your precious Son, Jesus Christ. On the cross, the human part of Him experienced extreme pain and suffering. He suffered five fatal wounds and resulting death. In His wounds and crucifixion He died a human death but was granted eternal life from You, His Father.
In witnessing Christ’s wounds and crucifixion, we, Your children, see that our sins are forgiven as part of Your amazing grace. We too are granted eternal life.
The poet Thoreau wrote that the lakes are eyes to measure the depth of Nature. Likewise, Almighty God, please help me view my human wounds from illness, loss of loved ones and broken relationships to be my eyes to see the depth of Your love for me. To see Your angels near me. To see Your Holy light in dark times. To see the path I need to walk to do Your will and walk in Your ways. Amen.
