God –Today, in Muir Woods I was with my family in Your Church without walls.
Underneath the canopy of a grove of ancient coast redwoods and beneath the rays of sunlight piercing from above, this prayer was created.
Lord, please let my faith in You be as strong as these redwoods.
May I lift up my praises to You just as the crowns of these redwoods seemingly stretch to reach Heaven to touch Your Face.
May the roots of my trust in You be firmly anchored in the certainty that You have special plans for me and those I love.
As these 1200-year-old redwoods have withstood the tests of time, of man, of pestilence, and fire, may You grant me the courage to overcome and learn from the crosses I must bear in my own life on Earth.
God, I do not know yet what Heaven is like. But, in resting and in praying in these woods today, I thank You for giving me a glimpse it.
Lord, please help all Your children honor You and the sanctity of nature by preserving and protecting Muir Woods and all National Parks in America. Amen
