God – As I begin the New Year, I give thanks to You for the many blessings I received in 2017. Things did not go strictly as I had planned last year. I had unexpected difficulties. Some relationships were strained and too absent of peace.  Some family members and friends whom I loved very much died.  Yet, as always, the blessings I received from You in 2017 far exceeded the challenges and losses I experienced.   As I make resolutions for the New Year ahead, please help me remember that Your plans for me in the past and in the future are far greater than any I could dream of on my own.  Amen.
