Prayer to God to Remove Our Resentments – March 18, 2018
Dear God – You brought us into the world as an intentional act of creation. We each began whole and complete and ensouled with a perfect spirit. Over time each of us have had hurts, wrongs done to us or those we love or things did not go as we planned. We are burdened by the weight of the resentments we carry. The love we want to give and the life we want to live are trapped in bitterness and sap our strength to fulfill the purpose for which You created us.
Today and every day, not just in Lent, please help us turn over our resentments and lack of forgiveness to You. Your love is stronger than our human weaknesses. Please carry this burden we cannot shoulder. Freed of our resentments, we can lift up our arms and our hearts to You and see the light of Easter Sunday.
If You forgave us from our sins, why cannot we forgive others?
Lord, please remove the load of our resentments so we can take steps in our walks of faith with greater joy, trust, and happiness in You. Amen
